The Delta Electronics Foundation has long been concerned with the issue of climate change. To understand the impact on the global and Taiwan as well to allow those who care about the environment to link up and effectively have a good command of the newest international climate information by assisting Taiwan to acquire the science report of the 5th UN Climate Change Report of "the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change" (IPCC), the Foundation has, since September 2013, organized the series activities on "Delta Media Salon for UN IPCC AR5".
A series of activities were organized respectively in October 2013 and April 2014 by conducting two workshops related to the WGI~WGIII chapters of AR5. Prominent experts and scholars in the field of climate change in Taiwan were invited to interpret and analyze the data, policy suggestions, and current status of Taiwan for the public. The discussion of further responsive strategies was also initiated.
When these working group papers were released, Delta convened a press conference to provide a real-time summary and translation. Experts from both Taiwan and the international community were invited to analyze the report contents to raise the awareness of the public towards the importance of this report. We also called for the government to rapidly provide incentives for energy-saving and implementing comprehensive policies of energy saving.
Information and videos of the two workshops, as well as abstract and summary translation of each chapter, were uploaded to the website.
The 45-minute production is the world's 1st 8K environmental feature documentary.
