The Delta Electronics Foundation believes knowledge dissemination is essential for boosting society's capacity to decarbonize buildings. Since 2020, together with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Taiwan Green Collar Association, the Foundation has been offering Mandarin courses to introduce the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, the most widely used green building rating system developed by USGBC.
The course not only introduces the criteria to achieve LEED Zero Energy, Carbon, Water, and Waste certification but also uses Namasia Mincyuan Elementary School, Asia's first LEED-certified zero energy academic campus, to illustrate details of the application. Additional courses on green finance and the urban heat island effect have been also provided, inviting power management system experts from Delta to share the applications of electric vehicles and energy storage in zero-carbon buildings.
Over the past few years, the Foundation has equipped thousands of architects and designers in Taiwan with green building concepts. In 2022, the LEED Zero course attracted over 1,400 enrollments.
DEF developed weather parameters for BIM data platform, allowing architects to build a more energy-efficient building.
In 2012, the Foundation decided to localize the teaching materials for elementary schools and thus designed the Delta Energy Education Program (DEEP) to bring energy education to the existing education system.
To accelerate the adoption of green building designs, Delta has participated in the construction, completion, and operation of multiple green buildings on campuses through donations and management.
