Since 2017, Delta has continuously promoted the application of micro-climate and weather data to building decarbonization. In 2021, Delta and International Climate Development Institute (ICDI) cooperated with New Taipei City to achieve almost 10% reduction of energy consumption in government offices with weather forecast information. We at the same time adopted science-based models to ensure the maintenance of the indoor comfort under temperature adjustment.

Without replacing any energy-consuming equipment, or upgrading the building envelope, this project has proved the possibility to achieve energy saving at very low cost through air conditioning temperature controlling and weather forecast data. Check out our academic paper.
