On July 25th, the Delta Electronics Foundation held its 2025 Environmental Scholarship Awards ceremony. This year, six master's degree candidates and two professors were honored, who will pursue advanced studies or short-term research programs in the Netherlands, the UK, the US, and Japan. Since establishing its environmental scholarship program two decades ago, the Foundation has supported over one hundred graduate students and scholars. Many alumni continue to contribute actively in various roles across academia, industry, government, NGOs, and think tanks, driving Taiwan’s transition toward a low-carbon future.
Longtime partners who have supported the scholarship program attended the ceremony, including Mr. Matt Nottingham, Head of Cross Strait & Regional Security Section of British Office Taipei; Ms. Marielle Lagers, Executive Director of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency; Ms. Hsiu-Hua Hu, Chairperson of Chinese Business Ethics Education Association and Mr. Chi Chao Wan, Secretary-General of Lee Kuo-Ting Foundation for Science and Technology Development. They all offered words of encouragement to the awardees.
Delta Foundation CEO Wim Chang highlighted the growing challenges of rising temperatures and the “Greenlash” — economic and political setbacks slowing sustainable progress. He emphasized AI’s key role in driving the green transition by improving energy efficiency and supporting ecosystem protection. Chang encouraged young scholars to apply their knowledge and innovation to advance Taiwan’s climate action and sustainability.
The 2025 awardees come from diverse research fields. This year’s recipients will study areas including architecture, sustainable agriculture, energy technologies, sustainable finance, corporate sustainability disclosure, and governance—bringing interdisciplinary expertise to promote a sustainable future.
Currently, the Delta Foundation offers three types of environmental scholarships:

•The“Delta Chevening Climate Scholarship,” a 17-year partnership with the British Office Taipei, received around 90 applications this year, with one winner selected.
•The“Delta Corporate Environmental Ethics Grant,” established 15 years ago, two professors were awarded.
