Longdong (龍洞), a tourist site located at the northeast coast of Taiwan, had once been a place where abalone culture had been prosperously developed. This year, Delta together with a landscape artist at the place establish an art installation "Pregnancy", to guard the growth of coral fragments.

Climate change results in irreversible and negative impacts on the ocean system. In 2020, due to the unprecedented lack of typhoon activity over the summer, the coral reefs in waters around Taiwan have suffered the worst bleaching under the highest seawater temperature record in history. Even the coral colony along the northeast coast, which has not experienced bleaching in the past, was significantly affected.
Echoing "Nurturing Life in Oceans", a new commitment for Delta Group’s next 50 years, Delta Electronics Foundation since 2021 has be involved in coral restoration along the northeast coast of Taiwan. The foundation has developed partnership with professional marine conservation teams to restore coral reefs, while train up about corporate volunteers to help build the nursery favorable to corals growth. On the other land, Delta invited the landscape artist, Mr. Kuei-Chih Lee, to create a meaningful art installation "Pregnancy", which symbolizes the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, and coral reefs.
"Pregnancy" features egg-shaped appearance. Its iron frames and detachable trays are also conducive to corals growth. Based on arc and spiral shapes commonly found in nature, Mr. Kuei-Chih Lee created a hexagon that can bear the external force most equally. The design displays the mysterious beauty of nature and the shape makes people associate it with the process of birth.
In Lee's viewpoint, humans have to figure out a way to coexist with nature after a long-term loss of balance between ecological conservation and industrial development. We hope that under "Pregnancy", the corals in Delta's nursery will grow stronger day by day, and will be ready to return to the vast ocean.
