Biodiversity loss, one of the three greatest environmental crises in the world, requires global efforts and action immediately. In order to raise public awareness on halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030, Delta took advantage of visual art and hosted the environmental film festival to remind people of the beauty of the Earth.
Echoing the global initiative—Nature Positive, in 2023, Delta selected "The Road to Nature Positive" as the theme for the film festival and introduced the world-famous environmental documentaries from Wildscreen. The co-curation of the film festival with Wildscreen made the Foundation the first Nature Positive Partner of the second Taiwan Environmental Film Festival.
22 selected domestic and international documentaries were screened across Taiwan. With the 4K and 8K high-resolution technology, audiences could enjoy the immersive experiences of the film and acquire knowledge about biodiversity loss through both film and post-screening talk.
So far, the film festival has attracted over 6,077 people and the 22 selected films were screened at 26 different locations across Taiwan. Other than a film screening, through holding the environmental documentary workshop and stop-motion-animation workshop, professional filmmakers and the audiences are able to learn how to write a script and make the film based on our surroundings such as plants. Through the film festival, we hope that everyone is able to enjoy the environment and continually keep an eye on biodiversity loss.
